Rob Brown earned a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia and a MBA from the College of William and Mary. He began his real estate career in 1972 with Goodman Segar Hogan, Inc. At GSH, he gained experience in leasing and sales of retail, office and industrial properties before being appointed as the Commercial Sales Manager.

In 1977, Rob began the firm Robert Brown & Associates, Inc. specializing in commercial real estate brokerage and the development of shopping centers. Under his leadership, members of the firm have built a strong reputation in the brokerage and development communities.  Rob holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) designations and real estate broker's license for Virginia.

Over the years, Rob has been active in a wide variety of real estate and community activities. He has served as President of the Commercial Multiple Listing Service, the Virginia CCIM Chapter, and the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA. Rob was the first President of the Graduate Business School Alumni Association at the College of William and Mary and the first President of the Coliseum Central Business Improvement District which represents all commercial businesses in the submarket in which Coliseum Crossing Shopping Center resides. In addition, Rob has served as President of the Christopher Newport University Real Estate Foundation, Trustee of The John Leland Seminary for Theological Studies, Chairman of the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance, and a member of the Executive Committee for the Peninsula Council for Workforce Development.

Rob also serves his Church and community. He currently acts as Trustee for his Church, as well as a member of the Administrative Lead Team and Personnel Committee. Rob serves on several committees for the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsula and is a Director of the Towne Bank Peninsula Board.
